Other, earlier species have been found in recent years in China.
Archaeopteryx is described by Britannica as "[a] genus of feathered dinosaur that was once thought to be the oldest known fossil bird."
If this had been my question, I would have answered "a link between dinosaurs and birds" - and I would hope that this would have been accepted as correct.
